Led by Emily Utt, historic sites curator for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, take a behind the scenes tour of the 1854 Beehive House while it is under renovation. You will be able to explore repairs to the sandstone foundation, the floorplan restoration, and the beginning of adobe stabilization. Discussions of interpretive changes and historic furnishings will also be included. They have lined up architects, engineers, adobe stabilization experts, material culture consultants, and archaeologists to talk about the complexity of this preservation project. I am hoping it will be an informative discussion for the tour participants. This is an experience that is only being offered to AIC and groups will be limited to 10 people. You will need to wear PPE (provided) and sign a waiver to access the construction site. Time and construction permitting a brief walking tour of Temple Square will be included.
